Frequently Asked Questions

What is VoIP?

VoIP is an acronym for Voice Over Internet Protocol, or in more common terms phone service over the Internet. If you have a reasonable quality Internet connection you can get phone service delivered through your internet connection instead of from your local phone company. Your telephone service through Ringfree is VoIP.

What happens if I lose my internet connection or if my power goes out?

Ringfree uses a hosted VoIP platform meaning that your phone system is actually in a datacenter rather than on premises at your location. Because of this, your phone system will continue to function if you lose power or internet. During an outage Ringfree support can route your calls differently, such as to mobile phones or directly to voicemail, until service is restored.

Can I listen to my voicemail on my computer?

Yes. Each extension has a web portal that allows users to perform a variety of actions such as managing and listening to voicemail, setting up voicemail email attachments, and managing call forwarding.
