A Remote Call Pickup is when a user at one extension picks up a call intended for another extension. This feature is useful in situations where users are occupied or away from their workstations.
To perform a Remote Call Pickup, do the following:
- While the phone is ringing at the intended extension, pick up your phone.
- Dial
**and then the extension at which the phone is ringing. - Optionally press the
Sendkey.
One issue you should be aware of is Polycom phones require a brief delay between the first and second presses of the * key. Pressing the ** in rapid succession on Polycom phones is interpreted as a + sign. Waiting about a second after the first press of the * key is sufficient.
